Code of Quality

The mission of the Association of Language Schools is to improve language education throughout the Czech Republic, to develop the activities and professional prestige of its members. The Association of Language Schools (hereinafter referred to as the Association) is a professional association of entities advocating the common principles of quality described in this Code. The Code of Quality thus represents both an entry threshold and a long-term professional commitment that members must fulfil in order to become members of the Association.

Members commit themselves to the following service quality requirements:

Accessibility

The member provides credible information about its services on the web interface, has a contact email and phone number for public contact, and designated times when school representatives can be contacted.
The member’s classrooms shall be adequately equipped for language learning.

Teaching methodology

The member shall have a defined procedure for the provision of teaching (methodology), which shall include the method of assessing the knowledge and progress of the learners, the specific teaching plan and the teaching methods used.
The member shall readily present the course delivery methodology and teaching methods to its existing and potential customers, while ensuring that the customer’s requirements for the methodology and teaching methods are consistent with the knowledge and skills of the trainers.
The member has an expert language methodologist in his team who is responsible for the methodological procedures.
The member maintains course attendance records down to the course-lecture-student level, and the teaching records include tracking of teaching content so that they can be used to review the delivery of the teaching plan.

Teaching in accordance with the European Framework of Reference (EFR) for Languages, where relevant.

The member tests students’ entry, intermediate and exit levels against the ERF.
Instructors are familiar with the scale and communicate it to their students.
Students have targets set with regard to the ERR.

Teaching lecturers

The member ensures that lecturers have knowledge of the language being taught at least at level C1 according to the EQF and appropriate methodological training.
The member trains its lecturers over a long period of time and provides them with appropriate facilities for further professional development.
The member conducts lesson observations and gives feedback to lecturers.

References

The member regularly surveys the satisfaction of its clients and responds to the feedback.
Member provides references upon request.
